Jim's latest Project! Its a 1980 R65 BMW. He bought it a few months ago for the right price and decided that he is going to get his creative juices flowing and create a cafe racer style bike of his own design. Back in the mid 70's and 80's Jim was creating bikes from the frame to the custom paint. When this bike came along he decided this long winter was a chance to get back to his roots. First came the tear down. We found a new powdercoat company and we will let everyone know how they did in just a few days. So far Jim has painted the motor with PJ1 Wrinkle paint and it came out pretty good. Next step is waiting on the powdercoat to return. He plans on having a electronic speedo multimeter, a mini fairing, Magura levers and some pretty cool custom paint. The stock gauges, fenders, headlight, and tail light are going to be for sale CHEAP. We are excited to see where this project steers him next...he tells me that this german bike is going to have some unique british influences...sounds like its going to be a pretty cool project. Who knows...maybe we will need to put a snow plow on it! ......updates to come soon..Here are the pictures of the Powder coat! Looks good! This frame was done by ACE powdercoating Canton, Ohio. Check them out at www.acepowdercoating.com. Got the engine back in the frame and wheels mounted. Getting her ready for the road!
